Veneers
If you are looking to improve the aesthetics of one or more teeth in a painless way, veneers are the way to go. These are thin tooth coloured shells that are finely crafted to bond to the front surface of individual teeth, instantly revitalise your youthful appearance. At Christchurch Boutique Dental, we do this procedure strictly under an operating microscope, to achieve seamless precision that is otherwise not possible through the naked eye.
There are two main types of veneers, composite and ceramic. A composite veneer may be directly placed (built up in the mouth) or indirectly fabricated in a dental lab and later bonded to the tooth. A ceramic veneer may only be fabricated indirectly.
The shades, surface textures and contours has to be thoroughly analysed for each tooth in order to craft the finest and most realistic looking veneers.
What is the process of getting veneers?
First Visit: Consultation
The process begin with digital photo and video analysis. We study your tooth colour, characteristics, surface texture, lip movement and other facial characteristics. There will be in depth discussion on the concerns you would like to address in order to help you achieve a tailored new smile that is natural and harmonious with your facial profile. A study model will also be made of your teeth.
Second Visit:
Based on the information gathered in the first visit, a set of mock up veneers will be made on the study model to simulate the final result. These will be transferred into the mouth with temporary resin to visualise your new look. At this point, we may consider facial aesthetic treatments to fine tune the new smile. Once you are ready, treatment will begin. Any teeth that require remodelling will also be done during this visit.
Third Visit:
These custom made ceramic jewels are bonded to your teeth, the fit is perfectly seamless that they look and feel indistinguishable to your natural teeth.
